so... it is kind of sad that i am posting this before adam's birthday party, but i still haven't gotten the pictures from ash of the party yet (its been a crazy week) and i still haven't found my camera either. boo anyways... about our awesome car fun.. yes that was sarcastic. last night, ethan and megan came over to take the purple beast off our hands, tom parked the truck on the street so that we could get the purple pontiac out of the driveway when they got here. now the pontiac has had its share of good times and has been beaten up a lot- it is a '99 after all. it has been parked in our diveway and garage with the windows rolled all the way down because they don't go up for a couple months now.
you'll never guess what happened as ethan was driving it home.... no... guess again.... okay let me tell you-- he's driving along and out pops a little mouse from the air vent wondering why his little world is all of a sudden moving and why the air is blowing out-- yes a mouse-- so he crawls across the dash, looks out the window, crawls across again to check things out and notices ethan looking at him so dives back into the air vent. disgusting!! i'm just glad i wasn't driving it. (so now i have told tom we need to get ryan over to our house to make sure the little mouse didn't leave any friends behind) ethan and tom found it hilarious and i found it revoltingly hilarious because seriously who has a mouse living in their car?
so, i go to leave for work this morning and i'm like dude, where's the truck?? yes! gone! it had disappeared, then i thought, hmm... maybe tom pulled it into the garage after ethan and megan left last night. NOT THERE!! so i run upstairs and i ask tom, "dude, where's your car?" and he's like "haha very funny". it was not funny one little bit. i left for work and tom got on the phone with the police to file a report, and they let him know that it was towed by our HOA. yes , we knew the rule about not parking on the street but was it legal for them to take our truck ehile we were sleeping, with no warning whatsoever and they didn't even leave a note behind. needless to say, we were livid. then, tom called and went down to the towing company (thank you paris) with our sick baby ,mind you, in the freezing cold, to get our truck, and they wouldn't give it to him because my name was on the registration. so i had to leave work to go all the way down there to sign the papers to release the car and pay the $200 to get our truck out. as tom was driving the truck out i noticed a bright green sticker on the window that i had never seen before. long story short, they put the warning sticker on our car at 9:45pm last night and towed our car at 3:00am this morning, while we were sleeping! and get this... on the sticker it said the time and date it was placed as well as instructions that if the vehicle was not moved by November 25th then it would be towed. Hello people... it is only the 24th!!!!!!!! the towing company wouldn't give us our money back, because they said it is not their responsibility to read the sticker. all i have to say is... we better get our money back and our HOA better never steal our truck from our front yard while we are sleeping EVER again. that is not legal, and i will do whatever it takes to get our money back. aren't HOAs supposed to be for the good of the homeowners? not to cause extra burdens for them, etc. can someone please tell me who ever thought of having an HOA in the first place? and what good comes from it? because all the HOA has done for us is give me headaches... we pay them every month for this??????
however... it is thanksgiving... and i am thankful that it wasn't stolen. things could always be worse.
